This is a hybrid strategy/deck building game. Players use cards to move, recruit, and heal units. Players gain cards by capturing strategic locations. This works as a tailwind for the player who is behind, because his deck is slimmer and more efficient. This also works to simulate the bloat of managing a large empire. This was an independent project. I did all the game logic in python scripts. The core architecture and graphics are from the Zero Engine.
